Location: Onion lake at Ruddocks Ranch, BC

BCOSF Host, Mike Mitchell and Ruddocks Ranch owner, Gord DiCastri head out fly fishing on Onion Lake targeting wild rainbow trout. If you haven't experienced fly fishing at Ruddocks Ranch, you're in for a real treat. The beautiful ranch has their own private lake for catch and release rainbow trout angling opportunities and a variety of accommodations to suit your needs. This episode features Pacific Wave Inflatables, Mayhem Fly Rods, Scientific Anglers and of course Mike's 3500 Ram Laramie Diesel from Maple Ridge Chrysler which got us to the ranch towing 2 boats on the FSR in comfort!

Duncanby Tyee

Location:  Duncanby lodge in Rivers Inlet

 

BCOSF Host, Mike Mitchell and owner of Duncanby Lodge, Sid Keay head out in Rivers Inlet targeting chinook salmon and Mike lands his first Tyee on the show. Flying Rainbows

Location: Secret Lake in the Cariboo.

Rivers Inlet Coho Battle

Location:  Duncanby Lodge, Rivers Inlet, BC

BCOSF host, Mike Mitchell heads out with Mike Pfortmueller to target coho salmon in a friendly and hilarious competition in Rivers Inlet.  Duncanby is a big supporter of the Percy Walkus Hatchery and their Salmonid Enhancement Program (SEP). This program plays an important role to conserve and manage Pacific salmon stocks. The activities aim to rebuild vulnerable salmon stocks, provide harvest opportunities, work with First Nations and coastal communities in economic development, and improve fish habitat to sustain salmon populations.

Kokanee Battle on Big Deka Lake

Location:  Big Deka Lake, Cariboo, BC

BCOSF host, Mike heads out with Al Belhumeur from Scientific Angler to target kokanee in a friendly competition on Big Deka Lake. "The BC Cariboo Region is home to over 30 plus lakes that offer outstanding Kokanee fishing, but the 2 lakes that outshine them all are Bridge and Deka Lake. Over the past 20 years the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC (FFSBC) along with the Ministry has stocked close to 14 million Kokanee in the Cariboo Region which has now grown into a reputable world class Kokanee fishery!" -
